HOURS – The fish auction begins promptly each day Monday through Friday at 6:00 am.
BUYER FEES & ELIGIBILITY – Compliance with the financial criteria that is determined necessary by the exchange’s management on an individual basis will be strictly adhered to and is required of any potential dealer that wishes to purchase product at the exchange. We reserve the right to alter the amount of the letter of credit or bond requirements to accommodate any purchasing pattern of an exchange member. In addition, we also reserve the right to revoke or dismiss any member of the exchange for non-compliance of the aforementioned financial criteria.
FISH HANDLING FEES – The handling fees for fish in the auction will be .12 cents per pound to the buyer and .03 cents per pound to the seller.
ALL FISH will be displayed in a maximum of 15 totes per lot.
SELLER HAILS – All sellers are advised to contact BASE five hours in advance with hails and an ETA to schedule unloading. Unloading hours will be at 6:00 am on Sundays and 10:00 am through 4:00 am each auction morning. PRODUCT DISPLAY – The auction will display all fresh fish by lot number, species and seller. All seafood will be displayed between the hours of 4:00 am and 6:00 am prior to sale.
INSPECTION – We provide our buyers with an “open door” policy, which allows them the ability to view the unloading of the vessels for visual inspection.
TRUCK DELIVERIES – All truck deliveries will be re-culled, re-weighed and re-iced to insure correct culls. No product will be displayed in cardboard boxes or improper containers.
VENDOR PRODUCTS – Vendors have the ability to bring product to the auction via truck between the hours of 12:00 pm through 4:00 am the following morning, Sunday through Friday. The product itself must be posted under the vessel name and paid for in that same vessel’s name when it is physically unloaded at our unloading facility. Any third parties that desire to consign product through the auction will be posted and paid for using their company names. No misrepresentations will be made at ANY time.
PRODUCT AUCTION – Any eligible bidders will compete until the high bid wins. At that time, the buyer can then pick out what lot of fish they want to purchase. The buyer has the option of taking as much fish within that cull size, up to as much as 4500 pounds.
SETTLEMENTS – All settlement checks will be available on the same day after 1:00 pm.
SOLD PRODUCT – All fish product that has been sold at the exchange must be picked up before 1:00 pm on the same date of purchase.
PAYMENTS – Payment is due on Monday before 12:00 pm for invoices from the previous week. If the buyer exceeds their credit limit before the week is over, they must pay down their payables in order to make purchases on the next day’s auction. There will be NO exceptions.
FISH TOTES & PALLETS – All totes must be washed and sanitized. Pallets must be exchanged at the time of pick-up or they will be charged to the buyer at market price.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL – Any non-compliance to the exchange rules and policies will result in the revocation of purchasing privileges and immediate dismissal should the exchange management deem to exercise that right.
